Tai Chi Silent Retreat

Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear?
– Lao Tzu, the Tao Te Ching

Step away from the noise. Reconnect with yourself. A weekend of silence, movement, and stillness — a sanctuary away from the hectic activities of life. Just a quiet rhythm of Tai Chi and meditation.

The Experience

This retreat isn’t about escape – it’s about discovery. The weekend is structured around focused Tai Chi practice and standing meditation supported by periods of silence. Meals and lodging are provided so you can completely unplug. No need to plan or talk – everything is taken care of. All you have to do is show up, breathe, and practice.

The Tai Chi Silent Retreat is challenging – physically and mentally – and that’s what makes it meaningful. Through steady effort and mindful attention, you’ll discover quiet strength, balance, and calm awareness. Each participant will take away the benefit of a deeper practice in three foundational pillars of T’ai Chi practice:
• Form Practice
• Standing Practice
• Posturing

The Rhythm of the Weekend

Friday Evening: Arrive, settle in, and begin gentle practice as the group eases into silence.
Saturday: A full day of silence – practice sessions, standing meditation, meals, rest. The stillness deepens.
Sunday: Morning practice continues in quiet focus, followed by time to reconnect and reflect before departure.

Why People Come

• To rest — away from daily noise, decisions, and responsibilities.
• To unplug — free from conversation, screens, and obligations.
• To reconnect — focus on breath, balance, and inner quiet.
• To grow — not through ease, but through steady, mindful challenge.
