Learn the fundamental postures and principles of the Yang Style Short form by attending the initial four nights of the Beginner Tai Chi Form Class (details below). The $40 class fee is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable, but can be applied to the full course cost if you continue. Openings are limited. Use the Contact and Registration page to express interest.

Weekday Schedule
Beginner Tai Chi Form Class
Learn the First Section of the Cheng Man-Ch’ing Yang-style Tai Chi form, including its first 16 postures, foundational Tai Chi principles, and basic application concepts. Ideal for new students or anyone wanting to strengthen or relearn the beginning of the form. Classes meet twice weekly for one hour.

$225 first time students, $175 repeating students
Intermediate Tai Chi Form Class – Last Third
Continuing students complete the remainder of the form by studying the Middle and Last Thirds, which are offered in alternating sessions (except Summer). These sections may be taken in either order.

Form Review
Refine your T’ai Chi Ch’uan through correction and deeper study of postures, movements, energies, applications, and principles. Classes may address any section of the full form, but with focus on First Section fundamentals.

Advanced Tai Chi Studies
For students who know the full form and are ready to explore Tai Chi more deeply through refined movement, mindful posturing, standing meditation, and tuī shǒu (push hands). Emphasis is placed on relaxation, sensitivity, balance, and connection to the form and each other.

Jian Sword
Students who know the sword form continue to refine the 52-posture Yang-style jian form through review, correction, and focused practice, while exploring principles, applications, timing, coordination, and the use of the sword as an extension of the body.
Observers are welcome.

Form Review
Performance of the form and study of the essential elements and principles. Full form may be performed, but focus will include First Section postures.

Ongoing Studies
For students who know the full form and are ready to explore the deeper currents through refined movement, mindful posturing, and standing meditation. The addition of tuī shǒu (push hands) invites students to discover relaxation and connection to the form and each other.

NOTE: By attending a class, you release Tai Chi KC instructors and all other students of Tai Chi KC for any and all liabilities for any type of injuries or loss sustained while training, studying, practicing, or in the application of T’ai Chi.
