Schedule

Spring 2024

The next new session is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 8th, and will include First Section, Second Section (Part 2), First Section Review, and several Advanced Studies sessions. Full class descriptions are available on the Classes page. If you are interested in joining a class, let me know through the Registration page.

Introductory Class
Want to learn more about T’ai Chi? Try a single class for free! We will cover the origins, the basic principles, learn the beginning movements and see a demonstration of the 37-Posture Cheng Man-Ch’ing Yang style form. A great place to ask questions. Space is limited – please use the Registration page to save a spot.
March 6th, 6:30-7:30pm

First Section
If you are new to T’ai Chi or returning and want to relearn, this is the class for you. The classes teach the postures and movements of the first section of the Cheng Man-Ch’ing Yang-style form, fundamental Tai Chi principles and energies, and basic application concepts.
Twice weekly, Mondays and Thursdays, from April 8-May 20, 6:30-7:30pm (13 classes)
$225 for first time students, $175 for returning First Section students.

Second Section (Part 2)
Because there are twice as many movements in the Second Section, it is taught in two parts. Understanding the postures of Part 1 (up to Fair Lady Works at the Shuttle) is a pre-requisite. Classes are 7:30-8:30pm on April 8, 11, 15, 22, 25, 29, May 6, 9, 13 (9 classes)
$150 for first time students, $120 for returning Second Section students.

First Section Review
The First Section Review class reviews postures through Cross Hands.
Every other Thursday 7:30-8:30pm – April 18, May 2, 16 (3 classes)
$40 for all classes, $20 per class individually

Advanced Studies
Studies include form in flow, holding postures, correction, standing meditation, Tui Shou, or “push hands”, and meditation. Students safely get “hands on” with others in order to deepen their understanding of the principles and skills of Tai Chi, especially the concept of Relaxation. More on Tui Shou classes. I’ll try to bring focus to specific Tai Chi-related topics covered in T’ai Chi and other writings.
Second Tuesdays each month, 6:00-7:30pm, $20 per session

Deposits and class fees
Class fees are due on or before the first day of classes. If a class is close to full, a small deposit may be required to hold your place in class.
